Aiming at VRB, WINDEY Inks a Strategic Cooperation Pact with Chongyang County
On March 22nd, WINDEY officially signed the Chongyang County Wind Power Energy Storage Supporting Project Development Agreement and the Chongyang County Vanadium Redox Flow Energy Storage System Assembling Base Investment & Cooperation Agreement with the People's Government of Chongyang County, Xianning City, Hubei Province.
In light of the agreements, WINDEY will invest in two phases to build an independent energy storage power station project with a total scale of 80MW/320MWh in Chongyang County, in addition to installing 400MW wind power facilities as the supporting works. The project adopts vanadium redox flow battery (VRB) technology featuring long-duration energy storage, high safety, and environmental friendliness. After being completed, the project can provide steady peak-shaving capacity for regional power grid and significantly improve its level in consumption of renewable energy. The VRB energy storage system assembling base project, which will be launched simultaneously, is expected to achieve an annual output of 2GWh and provide more than 2,000 job opportunities after production, helping Chongyang build a highland for the VRB energy storage industry in Central China.
As a domestic leading energy storage solution provider and service operator, WINDEY, relying on its VRB core technology, is committed to building a closed-loop industrial chain of “Vanadium Resource Exploitation- Electrolyte Production - Energy Storage System Integration - Power Station Operation". In this cooperation, the Company will work with upstream and downstream enterprises to jointly establish a provincial-level vanadium industry research institute, with a view to promoting the recycling of waste resources and the high-value development of vanadium mines, and helping Chongyang build a green and low-carbon industrial cluster. The full implementation of the project will further shore up WINDEY's leading position in the new energy storage field and also provide vital support for Chongyang County to achieve its "Dual Carbon" targets. In the future, both sides will deepen the cooperation, explore the application of energy storage technologies in such scenarios as industrial park and data center, and expedite the integrated development of clean energy and smart city.
